Meet Sopher Sparn's Principal Architects

Adrian Sopher was born in Calcutta and attended school at the University of Southern California and  the University of Pennsylvania. Adrian is a registered architect in Colorado and Pennsylvania and co-founder of Sopher Sparn Architects, LLC. He has over 30 years of architectural experience in a variety of building types, including commercial, institutional, sports and entertainment, health-care, facilities for the aging, large scale parking structures, master planning, urban design, and multi-family, high-end custom residential projects. For 17 years, Adrian Sopher was co-founder and president of Architecture Incorporated in Boulder. Prior to that Adrian was responsible for the design and management of multiple large-scale projects around the country as a project designer and project architect for large firms in Philadelphia, Boston, and Denver. Since the merger earlier this year, Adrian has introduced the firm to his family's lively 'whoodle' (wheaten terrier - poodle mix), Ted, and he has quickly become a crowd-favorite among the office.

A Colorado native, Stephen Sparn has deep-rooted passion and commitment to Boulder's local culture and community. After getting his Bachelors in Architecture and MBA from the University of Colorado, Stephen founded and successfully operated Stephen Sparn Architects, PC for over 35 years. His projects have received design excellence awards from the American Institutes of Architects, State of Colorado, City of Boulder as well as Historic Boulder.  Stephen has consistently prioritized meeting the design goals and needs of his clients while also being mindful of the Colorado vernacular. His projects include high-end custom residential homes, mixed-use, multi-family residential and commercial/institutional spaces. Stephen is currently the Principal Architect on the $5M renovation to the Dairy Center for the Arts which will start construction in August of 2015.  Stephen volunteers his time to a variety of local organizations and was formerly a chairman for the Boulder Chamber of Commerce and president of the Architects and Planners of Boulder. He currently sits on the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District Board and has performed pro-Bono design for the Dairy Center for the Arts as well as Habitat for Humanity. Stephen and his wife divide their time between New York City and Colorado and when they aren't traveling, they enjoy spending time with their son, daughter-in-law and chocolate lab at their home-base in Boulder, Colorado.
